Accountability

Being held responsible for doing what you say you will do

Accreditation
An objective, external measurement of the quality of services

Advocacy
Process of speaking for, writing in favor of, and/or acting on behalf of oneself, another person or a cause

Advocate
Person who gives support or protects the rights of another

Angelman Syndrome
A chromosome disorder characterized by severe developmental delays, nonverbal communication, movement or balance disorder and behavioral uniqueness

Aphasia
An impairment of the ability to speak or understand words, usually as a result of stroke or brain injury

Autism
A complex neurobiological disorder that typically lasts throughout a person's lifetime, impairing a person's ability to communicate and relate to others, and may also be associated with rigid routines and repetitive behaviors
