She is also highly skilled in using the Basic Assurances® for strategic planning, as well as the implementation of organizational systems and practices.

“Katherine has seen it all in her extensive work through accreditation. She has an unparalleled ability to connect the dots between direct support, and quality of life for people receiving those supports,” says Mary Kay Rizzolo, CQL President and Chief Executive Officer. “She will bring a wealth of experience to NADSP.”

Before being named as CQL’s Vice President of Accreditation, Katherine previously served as CQL’s Director of Accreditation and a CQL Quality Enhancement Specialist, providing accreditation, monitoring, evaluation, training and consultation to human service organizations. Prior to joining CQL, she worked for a national provider organization in a leadership role, overseeing hundreds of people in multiple states, and helping to lead efforts in achieving multiple successful accreditations by CQL.

“NADSP is at the forefront of all workforce issues affecting Direct Support Professionals, and it will be an honor to serve on their Board,” adds Katherine Dunbar. “They’re leading some truly impactful work involving credentialing, public policy, recruitment and retention issues, and so much more.”
